More About Phuket

Phuket is one of Thailand’s southern provinces and is located directly to the south of Phang Nga Province, connected to the mainland by the Sarasin Bridge. To the West of Phuket lies the Andaman Sea and to the South the famous islands of the Koh Phi Phi Archipelago. Phuket is Thailand’s largest island which is the main area of the province along with 32 smaller islands dotted off it’s coast. Phuket boasts a vast variety of popular activities and tours and is easily accessible from Khao Lak.

Patong, Karon and Kata Beaches are the most famous destinations in Phuket and where you will find the largest throng of holiday makers. Phuket offers pretty much everything for the modern traveller and thrill seeker though you may want to stay away from the big three resort towns if you are looking for Thai culture and places of historical interest. The old town in Phuket is definitely worth a visit. Phuket is also home to some very large shopping centres and sizable local markets.
