Khao Sok Jungle and Lake Expedition 3 Days 2 Nights Description
This tour takes place in Phang Nga Province, home to three of the most amazing temples in Southern Thailand. The first stop on this full day tour is the Dragon Cave Temple. At this site you can explore stunning caves and marvel at the stalagmites and stalactites that have formed in the limestone rock.
We then continue on to the Bang Rieng Temple. The temple situated high on a mountain which offers breathtaking views over the province. Wat (meaning temple in Thai) Bang Rieng features the largest pagoda in Phang Nga and houses a Buddha relic.
After enjoying an authentic, delicious Thai lunch at a local restaurant we head to Suwan Khuha Temple, or Wat Suwan Khuha. This is one of the most historic of all Phang Nga’s temples. It is located in a giant cave which houses a 15-meter-long reclining Buddha statue.
More About Khao Sok
Khao Sok, or more precisely Khao Sok National Park lies within Surat Thani Province in the South of Thailand. Surat Thani is one of the neighbouring provinces of Phang Nga. Khao Sok National Park covers an impressive 739 km² and is definitely one place you should not miss when travelling to Khao Lak.
Khao Sok is the largest area of virgin forest in the South of Thailand and a descendant from a rain forest supposedly older than the Amazon Rain Forest. Though a little further from Khao Sok, Cheow Lan Lake is often referred to as Khao Sok Lake. The lake was formed after the construction of the Ratchaprapha Dam and is an area of outstanding natural beauty.
